In 2023, Hawke’s Bay became the newest region to be accepted into the prestigious Great Wine Capitals Global Network.

This lot features a total of 26 bottles from 11 Great Wine Capital regions.

We extend our thanks to the our friends in Porto, Bordeaux, San Fransisco-Napa Valley, Adelaide and Mendoza for generously donating some of your finest local wines in support of the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction.

Porto – Portugal

• Graham’s 2000 Vintage Port – 1 bottle
  • Ranked 9th in the Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines.

San Fransisco – Napa Valley, United States of America

• Brand Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 – 1 bottle
  • The 2019 Vineyard N°95 Cabernet Sauvignon has beautifully expressive aromatics combined with a dense and flavorful palate. Lifted notes of crushed blackberries, thyme, cedar, and clove precede the fresh blueberry compote flavors.

• Falasco Wines Hermandad Malbec 2019 – 6 bottles
  This Hermandad Malbec from Falasco Wines is a beautiful, deep purple color. It has aromas of blackberry, plum, and a hint of pepper. The taste is of ripe blackberry, dark chocolate, and a touch of oak. It is full-bodied and has a long, smooth finish.

• Tony Bish Zen Chardonnay 2018 – 1 bottle
  • 100% ovum, first use. Skeetfield fruit, unfined and unfiltered. Beautiful nose with subtly mealy citrus fruit.

• Te Mata Estate Coleraine 2018 – 1 bottle
  • 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc and has spent 17 months in new French oak. Powerfully aromatic – classical Cabernet characters of crème de cassis, bay leaf, plum, tobacco and graphite.
