37.5L / 50 bottles
Winemaker: Cairn Coghill
Coveted as a component in the Askerne red blends due to its plentiful colour, bold tannins and wonderfully floral aromatics, the Askerne Petit Verdot in 2024 was an absolute standout, and as such it only seemed appropriate to keep some aside as a single varietal offering for the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction.
Beautiful fruit aromatics of dark plum and blackberry interplay with lilac and violet florals, supported with dark scented oak spice, liquorice and mocha notes. Juicy and rich, the palate is long and packed full of concentrated dark berry fruit flavours and velvety tannins. This is a bold wine that will age well.
