2022 delivered 173 barrels of smooth Hawke’s Bay Syrah into the hands of international award-winning Winemaker, Rod McDonald. As a self-confessed Syrah junkie, he’s chosen this 56L Quarter Barrique from the very best barrel of Syrah made that year. This unique lot will not be found anywhere other than the 2025 wine auction. To be enjoyed now, and much later, with plenty of light-hearted banter, tall stories, stonkingly good food and great friends.
Also included are two nights’ accommodation (self-catered) for a maximum of nine people at the stunning 1920’s homestead of Kōtare Estate. Guests will also be treated to a private wine tasting with Rod in The Cave at the estate accompanied by a selection of tapas.
