Artwork – Perpetual Harvest

Description

Auction Lot Details

Materials: Copper

Dimensions: Approx 1.6m x 50cm x 60cm

Weight: Approx 15kg

Perpetual Harvest draws its inspiration directly from the fertile soils and generous spirit of the Hawke’s Bay region. As the “Fruit Bowl of New Zealand” and a globally recognised wine producer, Hawke’s Bay is defined by its cycles of growth, harvest, and renewal.

To capture this, the sculpture reimagines the classical mythological Cornucopia. However, rather than a fleeting seasonal harvest, this horn is cast in enduring copper. It symbolises a bounty that never exhausts itself – representing both the rich viticultural legacy of the region and the limitless generosity of the community that gathers for the Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction.

Warm polished copper details emerge through the oxidised surface, creating a sense of life, richness, and renewal. Designed for versatility, the piece can be wall-mounted, suspended as a hanging sculpture, displayed on a solid surface like a wine barrel, or transformed into a functional water feature.
