2017 Hawke’s Bay Wine Auction
We have 44 Auction LOT’s up for grabs this year. The quality of mostly unique wine & wine tourism offerings this year is expectational. This event is New Zealand’s premier wine event based on the pedigree, uniqueness of offerings and the access to some of the country’s finest winegrowers together under one roof.
If you want to get your hands-on blends that you will never be able to buy off the shelf again and appreciate good wines, then this is the event for you.
Icons & Legends Workshop with Peter Hubscher
Peter Hubscher, together with Barry Browne both formerly of Church Road and Chris Scott (Church Road winemaker) make a delightful panel. Peter will talk about what it meant to him to work with the great Tom McDonald, the legacy he left behind and on through to Tom’s retirement in 1976 and the subsequent closer in 1981.
Peter & Barry will talk about the establishment of the Church Road Winery brand and the continuing red success that it had. Peter will also talk about his idea to launch the Tom Programme and what it now means to Church Road and current winemaker Chris Scott. Chris will conclude the workshop with the latest Church Road tastings.
Guests will each receive a glass of Church Road bubbles on arrival, accompanied by Dish Catering canapés. Once seated you will have the opportunity to taste wines from the last three decades.
